There is indication that a new Abia State PDP Chapter is emerging, undergoing a deliberate strategic re-building process that is targeted at repositioning it along other South East states chapters , including equipping them with the required/appropriate logistics and digitizing the operations.

The Vice Chairman , South East Zone of the party, Hon Chidiebere Goodluck, announced this weekend at Umuahia, Abia state Capital during the expanded regional executive meeting of the party held at the state PDP Secretariat.

He told the party members “I am here to assure you, on behalf of the Zonal Executive and our National Leadership, that our party ( PDP ) is undergoing a strategic and deliberate process of rebuilding.

“ We have had our share of challenges, both internal discord and electoral disappointments, but the light at the end of the tunnel is growing brighter, and we are bouncing back stronger than we were” .

Hon Goodluck disclosed part of the rebuilding process to include constitution of new strategic committees at all levels of the state executive, reconciliation, media engagement, electoral preparedness, policy formulation and grassroots mobilization, among others

The South East Zonal leader who asserted that Senator Samuel Anyanwu remains the current authentic PDP National Secretary, urged party members to resolutely subsist playing critical roles that would fly the PDP upwardly noted “it was your efforts, loyalty and endurance during our smooth and stormy seasons that were and are the very backbone of our resilience”.

Host Abia state Chapter Chairman , Elder Abraham Amah, who opined that the state Chapter is progressing, clarified the notion in some quarters that the court sacked all the state party executives/structures from ward to state level.

Amah said , the court ruling was misinterpreted because, there was no Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment. But when the CTC came, it was seen that ” No Abia State PDP Executive from Ward to State level was sacked by any court.

“The Court Judgment only tried to disqualify our Councillorship and Chairmanship candidates for the last Local Government election contest.

” But for whatever reason that that was done, we have decided to go to the Appeal Court, and our Lawyers have filed all the necessary papers”.

Both the South East Zonal Vice Chairman ( Hon Goodluck ) and Abia Chairman ( Elder Amah ) commended the support of some state party members, including notably, the immediate past Governor, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and serving Senator Austin Akobundu, describing their investment, commitment and loyalty to the PDP, as the bedrock of the party’s strength in the State and Zone.

The Zonal Chairman also extended commendations to the Abia PDP leadership, including the State Chairman, Elder Abraham Amah, the State Working Committee, 17 LGA and the 184 Ward Chairmen and their Executives, for sustaining the party at the grassroots level.

The Imo state Chapter Chairman, Hon Austin Nwachukwu, argued that with the re-affirming of senator Anyanwu as the authentic National Secretary, PDP has returned to the South East hence ” anyone parading as such, should stop forthwith”. He praised the Abia state PDP Chairman Elder Abraham, for ably piloting the affairs of the party successfully.

The National Deputy Legal Adviser, Mr Okechukwu Osuoha, his South East Zone Counterpart, Chief Ukpai Ukairo and the Zonal Organizing Secretary, Chief Mike Ahumibe, reportedly corroborated that by the Supreme Court ruling on the position of the National Secretary, senator Anyanwu remains the current National Secretary, claiming that the party is gradually re- stabilizing but, would not relent until it takes back the state power.
