320 register for Foreign Languages study at Gregory University Institute,

Over 320 persons are said to have registered to study Foreign Languages at the 13 years old Gregory University Uturu ( GUU ) Institute for Foreign Languages headed by Emeritus Professor Evaristus Anyaehie.

The Vice Chancellor ( VC ) Professor Cele Njoku said that the foreign languages available in the Institute which are meant for both young and old include Chinese, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish.

She ( VC ) announced during the
13th articulation ceremony that the Institute ” is to train and provide comprehensive language education through modern teaching technologies , equip scholars with the linguistic skills necessary for global competitiveness and offer them specialized programmes for business, travel and academic activities in the languages”.

She said that the GUU has witnessed a quantum leap in academics having started with three Colleges and now has 12 including Medicine and Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, Law, Agriculture, Education, Management Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Humanities, etc whose Courses are fully accredited by their statutory bodies.

The VC while congratulating the matriculants for gaining admission into the GUU stating that it was not an easy journey, further told them that hence they scaled through the huddles of admission , it behoves on them to programme themselves and know why they are in GUU and what they want to come out with.

According to her, the GUU Founder, Professor Gregory Ibe has through the Chancellor Mr Okechukwu Gregory Ibe , Jnr, embarked on aggressive infrastructural development to create conducive learning environment including functional Internet facilities spread across the campus, to make their stay comfortable

She added that in spite of daunting challenge, ” while so many institutions are grappling with the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic session, GUU has successfully completed and graduates our students on time”.

The Chancellor, Gregory Ibe, Jnr said
” in today’s world that is changing rapidly, success therein requires knowledge, creativity, resilience and problem-solving mindset, hence he the students/ scholars should think critically, engage in meaningful discourse and develop solutions that would impact society

” The GUU Leadership is focused on re-igniting the bonds between international and domestic universities, the private sector and the government, and to achieve this, we are investing in Modernized facilities, Industry -driven curricular, robust research initiatives and opportunities, global partnerships and commitment to technology and digital transformation”.
