Abia government upgrades Aba Trade Fair to international Status, – to collaborate with ACCIMA for November/December Fair

Abia State government says that the annual Aba trade fair hitherto organized by the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture ( ACCIMA ) has now been government collaborated and upgraded to international status.

Abia State government has announced that the annual Aba trade fair hitherto organized by the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture ( ACCIMA ) has now been government collaborated and upgraded to international status.

The 20th Edition of the Fair has been scheduled to hold from 28, November to 7, December, 2024, at the expansive Aba Shopping Mall premises along the Enugu- Port Harcourt expressway ( Osisioma).

This was announced to journalists at Aba, the state business hub, by the Chairman of the state government constituted 21- member Trade Fair Planning Committee, Chief Nwaka Inem, who is also the Special Adviser to the state governor Dr Alex Otti on Trade, Commerce and Industry.

He said that this 2024 Aba International Trade Fair will be significantly different from those of the previous years, because it has been structured as a joint undertaking between the state government and the ACCIMA.

” This is to broaden the scope, reach and impact of the Trade Fair for the Aba business ecosystem and signal to the world that the glory of this great city as a pivotal business destination in Nigeria and across the West Africa region is returning”

This International Trade Fair, he asserted , “will not just be more than a trade fair, but a strategic showpiece to announce Abia’s rising status as an economic powerhouse and major business hub”.

He said that this first ever International Trade Fair that European, Asian and American companies are showing significant interest in participation, will be held in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State from  28, November  to 7, December, 2024.

The Planning Committee Chairman noted that the Trade Fair is coming in the wake of governor Otti’s commitment to restoring Aba city’s infrastructure and building new ones that reflect it’s ( Aba City ) importance and glory as a great destination for business, leisure and family life.

He added that this 20th Aba Trade Fair will feature symposia, workshops and meetings for numerous invited and participating local, foreign and international Investors.

Also dpeaking on the coming Trade Fair, the ACCIMA president , Sir Geoffrey Uzoagbara, while commending governor Otti for the Fair, expressed optimism that the target would be achieved, noting that Aba never had or hosted an international trade fair in the past/before .

He said “over the years, we held just local trade fairs without state government collaboration” adding that the Shopping Mall Fair venue ) is ideal considering it’s accessibility by road and air by both locals and foreigners.i

Cross Country News ( nigeriareports.ng )  gathered that two reputable Consultants; Global Florish Exhibitions and Vivarmark Communications Ltd were engaged to work with the Planning Committee to effect a world-class Fair by driving all the Fair operational activities including over-seeing all aspects of the marketing and communication protocols, based on their extensive experience.

According to the Planning  Committee Chairman , ” the relevant details of this 20th Fair edition are being made available to interested members of the public , local and international businesses, would-be sponsors, and members of the diplomatic community”.
