The Abia state Chapter of the South East Renewed Hope Agenda ( SERHA) Initiative of president Bola Tinubu has been inaugurated along with the state and 17 LGA Executives.
The ceremony which had the theme ” Empowering The Grassroot ” also featured the formal inauguration of the State and it’s 17 LGA SERHA Executives by the National Coordinator, Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere, and distribution of Equipment that would enable the members undertake businesses that would earn them incomes.
The Equipment included Motorcycles, Grinding, Hairdressing and Sewing Machines and Rice .
In addition, 600 members were given business finance support ranging from N50,000.00 to 200,000.00 each while 500 indigent families got
N 20,000.00 each.
Reportedly, youths had disclosed that they will support the re-election of public office holders seeking re-election including president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, if they make their welfare a priority.
They ( youths) said that the re- election seekers they ( youths )should support would be those that assisted them get direct employment or empowered them to set up and manage their own businesses rather than using them ( as in the past ) , as thugs, drum beaters, dancers, abusers of opponents, election- rigers, among others.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a member of SERHA who spoke from the sideline, noted that president Tinubu of the APC and Abia state governor Dr Alex Otti, of the Labour Party , have created institutions and programs that are capable of engaging the citizens, especially the youths.
In his welcome address, the host Abia State Chapter SERHA Chairman , Amb. Uche Hilary- Adibe said that the gathering marked the begining of a new chapter in their journey towards progress, unity, and development adding ” this initiative embodies our collective aspiration for a brighter future, a better Nigeria”
The National Coordinator of the SERHA, Amb. Belusochukwu Enwere who performed the inaugurations, said in his address, that the ceremony was organized to tell president Tinubu that due to what he has done for the South East, the Zone shall support his re- election, stating that the SERHA has become the platform to canvass the support for him.
He said ” We gather today as a collective voice, united in our determination to support His Excellency, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for a second term. We believe in his vision, his leadership, and his unwavering commitment to building a brighter future for our great nation, using bottom to top approach that favours the youths”.
He also said that President Tinubu’s leadership has implemented bold reforms, been driving economic growth, improving infrastructure, enhancing ease of doing business, fostering unity and inclusivity, promoting national cohesion, empowering marginalized communities, ensuring equal opportunities for all, investing in human capital, enhancing education, healthcare, and skills development to equip Nigerians for the challenges of the 21st century”
He added that SERHA is built on the foundation of President Tinubu’s proven track record, expressing optimism that president Tinubu will sustain Economic growth driven by innovative policies, investments in infrastructure, Security through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and effective law enforcement, with education and healthcare remaining his top priorities, and increased investments especially in National Education Loans Fund (NELFund) hospitals, and social services.
He consequently urged South Easterners and Nigerians to join the SERHA in mobilizing communities, engage with friends, family, and neighbors, share the message of hope and renewal, volunteer to support the campaign, participate in the events, and contribute to the cause.
