Former Minister of Mines and Steel Development Dr Sampson Uche Ogah has dismissed his refreshed suspension from the APC as announced on Monday after the meeting of the
Chairmen of the state 17 APC Chapters and the State Working Committee held in their Umuahia state Secretariat.
Dr Ogah who reacted to the development over the telephone on Tuesday , stated that the matter has been before the court, wondering if the party forgot it, decided to ignore, disregard or disrespect the court.
The Party faulted Ogah for reportedly announcing publicly during a reception the Isuikwuato communities organized for their son, Mr Ikechukwu Uwanna, the Abia State Attorney General / Commissioner for Justice ( HAG ), that he ( Ogah), will vote for the reelection of president Bola Tinubu of the APC in 2027 , but vote for the state governor Dr Alex Otti who is a member of the Labour Labour party.
HAG Uwanna was among some the last set of lawyers that were recently elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in Nigeria.
The state APC Deputy Chairman of the party Hon Chinedu Ihesulo presided over the meeting during which the state Legal Adviser Mr Vigilus Nwankwo advised that Dr Ogah, having been on subsisting suspension since 2022, should remain so until the party takes another decision.
The state APC argued that though Ogah did not speak for or on behalf of the APC, his said public declaration amounted to anti-party ( APC ) activity, and recalled that Dr Ogah has been on suspension from the party since 2022, which ( suspension ) was yet to be lifted.
The meeting also resolved that Hon Donatus Nwankpa who had served as the State APC Chairman, and is currently serving as the APC National Welfare Secretary, should be returned to the same position during the coming APC national Convention.
Both decisions on Dr Ogah and Hon Nwankpa were unanimously affirmed by the members at the meeting.
