Dr Ude Oko Chukwu, the immediate past Abia state deputy governor for 8 years under ex governor Okezie Ikpeazu Dr Ude Oko Chukwu ( both PDP members) on Tuesday met with serving Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party ( LP) at his Nvosi country home office, and thereafter hinted of his likelihood to join the ruling state Labour Party.
He told journalists after their meeting that governor Otti’s unprecedented performances across all sectors and sections of the state have earned him easy re-election in 2027.
He said that within a short period in office, governor Otti has transformed every facet of the State’s economy. such that he has through these various landmark achievements earned himself a second term in office.
“Let me say it , I have ‘ gone around Abia state, especially Abia North where I come from, and saw and see the kind of road infrastructure that we have there, it is unprecedented. This is not about politics or propaganda.
” The truth must be told, there is a remarkable improvement, virtually in everything he’s doing, governor Otti has been very, very intentional, be it in terms of road infrastructure, health , sports, sanitation, etc
The former Deputy Governor who described the infrastructural revolution of Governor Otti’s government across the state including Abia North, Aba and Umuahia as unprecedented, stated that Abians had not witnessed the level of cleanliness and development being championed by the Otti administration.
Hon Oko Chukwu who, was former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, said that his visit to governor Otti, was to appreciate his giant strides across the State, and let him know that all hands are on deck to support him, looking at all that he has been able to do within just two years.
Asked if he plans to join the Labour Party, he responded that he will soon make his decision public saying “there are ongoing realignments, and the likelihood is also likely that some of us will also join them in doing the realignments.
“If I’m going to join the LP, I will invite all of you ( Journalists ) to be part of what will happen, and this may be soonest”. ,
