Sequel to the Supreme Court verdict on the PDP leadership crisis, a Chieftain of the Abia State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Mr Ikpegbu Emeka-Yellow, has described the reported expulsion of Senator Adolphus Wabara , whom he said is the Chairman of the Party’s Board of Trustees ( BoT ) as a mis-interpretation and false claim.
He said his clarification was based on his reaction to the statement credited to Elder Abraham Amah on the recent Supreme Court of Nigeria’s judgment while allegedly , nullifying the party’s Ibadan Convention, and upholding the suspension of former National Secretary, senator Sam Anyanwu, alongside other key officers.
Emeka-Yellow therefore dismissed the claims in some quarters that the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) led by senator Wabara, was expelled from the party.
According to Emeka-Yellow, the alleged expulsion of Wabara was not only overturned by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) but also invalidated by the courts.
“The claim that Senator Wabara was expelled is false and legally untenable. The National Working Committee had since disowned and reversed that decision, while the court equally voided it.”
The Supreme Court ruling, is a decisive blow against what Emeka-Yellow held tantamounted to “political rascality” within the party, stressing that the judgment also laid to rest attempts by some elements to destabilise the PDP, adding that it ( judgement) reinforces the supremacy of the law, which ” no one can exercise powers they do not possess,”
