A past Abia state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Chairman , Senator Emma Nwaka, a lawyer, has quit the Party lamenting that the party he took over in shambles, re-invigorated and nurtured it steadily, has become a ghost of the hitherto robust state he left it behind after serving his tenure.

He tendered his formal resignation
through his Oguduasaa Isuikwuato Ward 5 PDP Chairman which Copy carrying the Ward Chairman’s acknowledgement, was sighted by Nigeriareports.ng

He cited personal reasons for quiting the State PDP Chapter he led for five years from 2010 to 2015 during the tenures of former governors Theodore Orji and his successor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu both of the PDP.

Widely acclaimed to be the best past Chairman of Abia state PDP, Senator Nwaka told Nigeriareports.ng he decided to quit ” after very deep considerations and reflection on the trajectory of my political life as the time has really come for me to chart a new course”.

Abia state PDP under his leadership was reputed for unity, peace and winning streaks, having won two state governorship elections back to back, controlled the State House of Assembly, as well as won almost all the State Seats in the National Senate and House of Representatives

Presently, the state PDP that was a united, most vibrant, boisterous party in Abia state has now degenerated seemingly into the wilderness, is being deserted by its low and high caliber members who have joined other then smaller parties.

Asked for his next choice political Party and how he recorded his credited successes, former Chairman Nwaka said ” one doesn’t have to be involved in partisan political activities to render service to the people.

However, if in the future it becomes necessary for me to align with any partisan political platform, I shall inform Nigerians

” Abia PDP was in shambles when I took over the leadership. Most of the bigwigs of the party had relocated to Abuja to avoid trouble at home. My first task was to unify Abuja PDP and those at home ( in Abia ).

” You can therefore imagine my pain as I watched the party I laboured so much to build, become a ghost of the robust winning party I left behind”.
