Abia APGA invigorates, gets new Leader under Njoku national leadership.

Prepares to win Council election

Abia state Chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA) has rejuvenated and bounced back under the national leadership led by the Supreme Court endorsed Mr Edozie Njoku.

The new state Chairman Mr. Onuoha Egbe Benon who was appointed on acting capacity by the Njoku National Leadership, said so at the weekend.
adding that the present leadership of APGA in Abia state led by himself has been made known to all the relevant institutions including the state party members when the National Working Committee-mandated Team undertook a harmonization visit to Abia with a view to also reconcile the aggrieved members.

Leader of the National Team who is the APGA National Youth Leader, Comrade Chuks Nwoga had during the vist also addressed the state party members in the Umuahia State Secretariat.

Comrade Nwoga recalled to the party members that APGA still remains deeply rooted in Abia, being the state that produced its founding father and pioneer national chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, who is currently the Chairman of its Board of Trustees ( BoT ).

Buttressing this fact, Comrade Nwoga also reminded APGA members that the current serving Abia state governor Dr Alex Otti, now of the Labour Party , had twice flown the APGA Flag as its governorship candidate adding that the former state governor, Senator Theodore Orji, once decamped from his former Progressive Peoples Alliance ( PPA ) and joined APGA.

According to him, the revered late Chief Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, lived and died as member of APGA while his wife, Ambassador Bianca Emeka Ojukwu has remained a strong member long after his death, among many other notable Igbos and Nigerians.

Acting state Chairman Benon said that with the Supreme Court affirmation of Mr Edozie Njoku as the current APGA National Chairman and his recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) , there is no faction in the party presently.

” Add this to the return of our Founder and Pioneer Chairman, Chief Chekwas Okorie, APGA is now fully rejuvenated and re-poised to win elections hence, we would not allow the party which Emeka Ojukwu, the Eze Igbo Gburugburu ( king for all ) died in, to sink.

” The new APGA strength will be tested and ascertained in the coming Council Elections hence we have tasked party members to accordingly do the needfuls in their Wards, LGAs and states to ensure that credible candidates are presented for the Council elections from which our victories are being foreseen”.

Benon who said that he accepted the mandate assigned him to reconcile the APGA family in the state and solicited the support and cooperation of all for the expected success, cited Abia as the 19th State Chapter the Reconciliation and Harmonization Committee that was appointed by the Edozie Njoku national leadership has visited.

” We have been visiting our state aggrieved past leaders and members of our state party, who had turned their back on the party , as a result of bad leadership of the past. We have met with Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, Mr. Sunday Onukwubiri, High Chief Emmanuel Egwu and they us their blessings”.

For the immediate past State Chairman, ( High Chief Egwu ) who described our meeting as a fruitful one that will go a long way to re-winning members and new ones for the party, predicted that under Njoku leadership , “APGA has again become a forward movement and beautiful Bride East of the Niger”.
